Acne Scars Treatment – A Short Important Guide

Acne Scars Treatment

are often worse than the actual acne itself.  There are numerous methods and procedures that have been developed to treat acne scars.  Some scars can simply be covered with makeup, but many times acne scars are deep and need more in-depth treatments.  The treatment really depends on the person and the severity of the scarring.

After a person suffers an out break of acne they will have a red, slightly raised area left behind.  This is not actually a scar, but the skin healing.   If more acne occurs before the area can completely heal a scar will most likely occur.

If the area does not heal completely within a year it is considered an acne scar.  Other scarring can occur that leaves pox marks in the skin, giving the skin a rough appearance.

To prevent more serious scarring a person should try to treat acne when it occurs and use medications to help the skin heal.  A person should also avoid picking at the acne as this can cause scarring, too.

There are different types of acne scars that require different treatments for acne scars.  Ice pick scars are narrow scars that go deep into the skin.  They require treatment like skin grafts.

Boxcar scars are rounded marks that are shallow and can usually be treated with skin resurfacing methods.  Rolling scars are actually under the top layers of skin and giving the skin an uneven surface.   These scars usually require a surgical treatment method.  These are the major types of acne scars and how they are treated.

Acne scars treatment is something many sufferers are looking for.  Getting acne scars treated should always be done under the care of a dermatologist to ensure that further skin damage does not occur.  A dermatologist can tell a person the exact method of treatment that will work best for their
situation.
